MEC Kholwane applauds progress of supplier database registration process

MEC Sikhumbuzo Kholwane applauded company representatives who came in their numbers to register on the Centralised Supplier Database System this week.
The database system is one of the reforms which is being introduced by National Treasury to modernize Supply Chain Management in government.
MEC Kholwane told the representatives of companies that the Provincial Government is determined to streamline the procurement system and ensure that it support growth of small businesses.
"This is one of the initiatives that will assist us to build an effective and efficient procurement system in the Province", said MEC Kholwane.
More than hundred and twenty (120) companies were registered in the Centralized Supplier Database since the registration process started on Wednesday, 26 August 2015.
Ms. Deli Nyathi of Impisi General Construction is one of the business people who successfully registered their companies in the system this week.
She found the system to be user-friendly and believes it will enhance procurement processes in government.
“This is a great innovation. I believe it will improve the Government procurement system,” Ms Nyathi said.
