MEC Kholwane to outline budget adjustment for departments

MEC for Finance, Economic Development and Tourism, Mr Sikhumbuzo Kholwane will table the adjustment budget at the Provincial Legislature on Tuesday, 18 November 2014.
The mid-year budget is informed by the review of the provincial government programme and related budget requirements and expenditure estimates for the period ending 31 March 2015.
The Provincial Legislature passed the 2014 Appropriation Bill amounting to R36.4 billion in July 2014. The budget represented an increase of 6.7 percent from the budget allocated to all the provincial departments and the Legislature during the 2013/14 financial year.
MEC Kholwane has urged the Accounting Officers and managers to improve efficiency gains and deal with leakages of budgets given the current stubborn economic environment.
