Mpumalanga’s finances are well managed – Minister Gordhan

Mpumalanga finances are generally well managed, this was the verdict of the Minister of Finance, Pravin Gordhan on the state of finance of the Province.
Addressing a large contingent of media after the meeting with the Executive Council in Mbombela on Tuesday, 18 October 2016, Minister Gordhan said “Mpumalanga is a well-managed Province”.
The Minister Gordhan said he saw many good things and best practices during his interaction with the executives which gives confidence that the provinces are managing their finances well.
Despite the low economic growth, Minister Gordhan remains optimistic that the country will avoid recession.
He said part of the reasons he is visiting the provinces is to engage the executive on how we can work together to build confidence in the economy.
