Handover of computers & VSAT facilities as part of Nelson Mandela centenary programme

The Provincial Treasury will donate computers and provide VSAT facilities to three (3) Thusong Centres in the three Districts of the Province as part of the Nelson Mandela Centenary Programme in 2018.

The three identified centres for the Nelson Mandela legacy projects are Fernie Thusong Centre in Gert Sibande; Mbangwane Thusong Centre in Ehlanzeni, and Marapyane in the Nkangala District Municipality.

VSAT (very small aperture terminal) is a small satellite dish that provides a permanent connection to the Internet throughout SA without the need for a telephone line.

The MEC for Finance, Economic Development and Tourism, Mr Sikhumbuzo Kholwane will kick start the departmental programme with the official opening of Marapyane Computer Centre on Friday, 27 July 2018. The other centres will follow in due course.
