Department postpones fundraising draw

Wednesday, 26 November 2014

The Department of Finance has extended the ticket sales and has thus postponed the draw for its inaugural fundraising campaign. The draw which was initially scheduled to take place on Saturday, 29 November 2014 will now be held on 28 March 2015 and therefore aligning same to the end of the financial 2014/15.

The Department remains flexible to moving the date of the draw to an earlier date, which is dependent on the tickets sold, given the nature of the challenges that the fundraising effort seek to address.

The Department has set itself an ambitious target of raising at least R400 000 which will go towards the building and furnishing of decent homes for needy families within the Province.

Unfortunately at this stage the ticket sales did not meet our desired target to result to adequate funds to enable the Department to meet its intention of building and furnishing the four homes for the identified needy families.

It is not pleasing to have to postpone the date of draw for these magnificent prizes that are still on offer for a ticket of only R100 each.

We are however optimistic that the extended period will enable the officials and partners to go an extra mile to achieve the desired target which will help the department to make a lasting contribution to the overall programme of defeating inequality and elevating the needy to the desired level in the society.

The Department would like to apologise to all the participants and entrants who already bought tickets for the postponement.

The department will engage with other partners to fast-track the ticket sales and wishes to call on the people to support the initiative. We wish to take this opportunity and thank all the participants who have already bought the tickets so far, for this has given us hope that this is possible and can still be a reality. Together let’s soldier on in moving Mpumalanga Forward.
