MEC Phosa celebrates Mandela Day by donating a house

MEC of Finance, Mrs Pinky Phosa handed a house to a destitute family and donated household furniture to another family in Amersfoort and Perdekop, Dr Pixley Ka Isaka Municipality, on Wednesday [18 July 2012].
The humble contribution and gifts were presented to the Dludlu and Banda families as part of the celebration of the 2012 Nelson Mandela International Day.
MEC Phosa said selfless contributions to all efforts aimed to improve the lives of the less fortunate especially children make a momentous impact in the continuing effort to build a caring society and a better world.
“Every action that we take will help us build a nation that Dr Nelson Mandela dreamed and hoped for children in the country and the world,” said Mrs Phosa
She called on the community leaders and neighbours to help in restoring the dignity of all who lost this birthright due to poverty and extremely unfavourable living conditions.
“The spirit of unity, caring for and supporting one another remains a key ingredient in the long and laborious life journey that must be undertaken by all of us.
“The celebration of Nelson Mandela International Day gives us a reason to reflect on our contribution to the project of building a free, united and just society, said MEC Phosa.
MEC Phosa, Team Finance and corporate sponsors participated in numerous activities such as painting at a local school, centre for people with disabilities and the two houses that were donated as part of Nelson Mandela International Day.
