Department of Finance has new Head

Mpumalanga MEC for Finance, Mr Madala Masuku welcomes the appointment of the new Head of Department (HOD), Ms Nombedesho Nkamba.
Ms Nkamba has impeccable credentials in the accounting, banking and public sectors. She has served at the management of the Department of Finance since 2002. During her tenure at the Department, Ms Nkamba provided strategic leadership on Provincial budget management and other related functions as Municipal Finance, Provincial Fiscal discipline, Economic Analysis and infrastructure support.
“We are all excited about the appointment of the Head of Department as it ensures continuity and stability in the service, whilst strengthening the capacity of the Department to deliver quality support service to the provincial departments, public entities and municipalities on transversal financial management. I wish her success in her new role,” said MEC Masuku
MEC also thanked the outgoing Acting Head of Department for ably managing the administration since his appointment in 2011.
“We are grateful to the Acting Head of Department, Mr Junior Mbatha for the work he has done since he took the responsibility to provide strategic direction and leadership to the administration, said MEC Masuku.
Mr Mbatha led the department, assisted by a team of senior managers to maintain the status of attaining clean audit outcomes, with the recent one in 2011/12 financial year.
