Thirty three (33) officials from different departments, municipalities and public entities were awarded certificates of competence after attending a successful year-long programme in Supply Chain Management and Assets Management earlier this year.
The graduation ceremony for the officials was held at Mbombela Stadium on Friday, the 25 October 2013.
The programme was offered by the Department of Finance in partnership with the University of Pretoria.
According to Senior Provincial Supply Chain Manager Mr Robert Masambo, this programme is aimed at empowering officials with relevant knowledge and skills to improve service delivery.

Mr Masambo said this programme offers the officials the knowledge and skills that will assist in rooting out issues of non-compliances in the supply chain management environment.
“The officials that successfully went through this programme will be able to fully interpret and ensure that there is a fully compliance in terms Supply Chain Management policies and practices in their respective departments,” he added.
Ms Makgati Pudikabekwa, who is working in the Provincial Department of Public Works Roads and Transport, is one of the 33 graduates who appreciated the opportunity to enrich her knowledge and skill in the supply chain management.
“This course is broad and will definitely add value to my work in supply chain management section of my department,” she said.
